Julien Jaca
Julien Jaca
Julien JACA, born in 1985 in Toulouse, is a French painter based in Hossegor. After studying at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts, he left in 2012 to pursue a career as an international tattoo artist, influenced by traditional art and craftsmanship. A pivotal moment in 2018 shifted his focus entirely to painting, leading him to create over a hundred works characterized by raw, intuitive energy and a disregard for aesthetic perfection. JACA blends pop culture, naïve art, and personal symbolism, often drawing on archetypes and influences from Afro-American post-slavery artists like Sam Doyle, as well as French masters like Matisse and Gauguin. His art, which incorporates layered imagery and found objects, challenges conventional narratives, creating iconic, provocative figures set against vibrant backgrounds.
