Bika

Gabriela Genčúrová, also known as Bika, is a visual artist based in Slovakia. Her work combines surrealism, emotional symbolism, and the aesthetics of the digital age, often resulting in dreamlike scenes that feel both playful and slightly unsettling. Using airbrush and acrylics, she explores themes of the inner child, transformation, nostalgia, unfulfillment, identity, self-destruction, and quiet spirituality. These ideas are frequently embodied through strange animal figures, distorted characters, and objects that convey raw emotion in unexpected ways. Her creative process is instinctive and fluid, guided by moments of impulse and intuition. Having previously worked with drawing, sculpture, and animation, Gabriela now focuses primarily on airbrush painting. Rather than telling direct stories, her works invite emotion and introspection, serving as intimate reflections of personal memory and shared generational experience.
