STEP #1
Don’t be afraid to branch out
Be brave when looking to buy art. Whether you’re into more minimalist interior design or colourful interiors filled with patterns, a gallery wall is a perfect way to add a pop of colour to any room. Don’t limit yourself to one specific colour scheme - we love the colours from @raw.home.interior below and how the range of colourful art prints can work together seamlessly. So don’t be afraid to deviate, and experiment with colours that you wouldn’t normally go for. If you're someone that's not that confident working with colour then you'll want to check out our bite-sized guide Intro to colour. This is a great starting point, as it gives you lots more tips and techniques to test different colour combos within your space
STEP #2
Art frames are super important
For many of you, frames can feel like an afterthought; a simple addition to the main event. However, the right frame option can bring not only your art wall, but your whole room together beautifully. If you’re not experienced with getting creative with your framing then a simple option can be to go for uniform frames, for example getting them all the same frame colour which also matches a colour in the room. Whether that's matching natural wood frames with brown couches, or light wood flooring, this can bring a more homely feeling to the entire room, and is such a simple way to create the illusion of expensive home decor
STEP #3
Measure your walls
This might sound like an obvious one, but always keep the height and width of your walls in mind. Whether you’re looking for a gallery wall with a few XL prints, lots of small prints, or a mix of both, it’s important that your gallery wall is a main focal point. As you don't want to go to all that hard work designing and building it and then it gets lost in the rest of the wall space. Be mindful of the exact dimensions of each print so there are no surprises. If you’re buying prints with frames, remember to factor in the frame width
STEP #4
Try before you buy
As with most things in life, practice makes perfect, so have a go with our gallery wall builder tool before making a final decision. It can make all the difference between your finished product looking the part and looking amateur. The tool enables you to upload a photo of your interior, drag and drop artworks into place, adjust artwork sizing, add frames and much much more, and confirm whether or not your favourite prints look good together
