DROOL Art Prints — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying museum-grade, giclée art prints from independent artists at DROOL — quality, sizes, framing, worldwide shipping, returns and more.
Prints, Paper & Framing
What are DROOL art prints made of? What paper and ink do you use?
DROOL prints are thick, giclée fine art prints made on archival, acid-free paper using 12-colour UV pigment inks. Most art print stores sell cheaper, non-giclée alternatives that don't match the same colour vibrancy and deep blacks. We inspect every print for quality by hand before we dispatch it.
The paper we use is sourced from FSC-approved forests and printed with water-based inks.
What sizes do DROOL prints come in?
Our prints come in a range of sizes and ratios, from small (A4) to XL (A0), and we produce them on thick fine art paper and premium textured canvas. Each size is shown on the product page and available unframed or framed.
We offer artworks in a range of aspect ratios to preserve the original proportions of each piece. For example, canvas artworks are often created in ratios that differ from standard digital poster dimensions.
Do DROOL prints come framed, and what frames are available?
You can buy any paper or canvas print unframed or framed. Our handmade frames come in three finishes — black, white and natural wood. Choose your frame from the options on the product page. Framed prints arrive ready to hang.
What size frame should I buy for my artwork?
When you buy a framed artwork from DROOL, the dimensions we list refer to the size of the artwork itself and the surface area the artwork is designed to fit. The frame sits around the outside of the artwork, so the overall external size of the framed piece will be slightly larger than the listed artwork dimensions. For example, if you choose a 30×40cm artwork with a 30×40cm frame, the frame will fit that 30×40cm artwork, but the full framed dimensions will be larger once the frame border is included.
How do I choose the right print size for my wall?
As a rule of thumb, we recommend your artwork (or gallery group) fills about two-thirds of the wall or furniture it hangs above. A4–A3 suits small walls and gallery clusters; A2–A1 works as a single statement piece above a sofa or bed; A0 and XL sizes anchor large or high-ceilinged spaces.
Tip: mark out the print's dimensions on your wall with masking tape before ordering so you can see the footprint in the room.
Shipping & Delivery
How long does delivery take, and how much does shipping cost?
We ship 80% of orders within 24 hours, with free shipping over a local spend threshold. UK delivery takes 2–4 working days; the US 2–5 days; Europe 5–7 days. These times and costs are subject to change, so refer to our shipping page for the most up-to-date information.
| Destination | Cost | Delivery time |

Delivery times are estimates and may be longer during peak periods. You'll receive tracking once your order ships.
Does DROOL ship internationally, and will I pay customs or import duties?
Yes, we ship worldwide, and there are no duty or import fees on orders within the UK, EU, USA or Australia. That's because we produce prints at local print labs in each of those regions, so most orders never cross a customs border.
For destinations outside those regions ("Rest of World"), any local taxes or duties are set by your country and are outside DROOL's control.
Where are DROOL prints made, and are they sustainable?
We produce our prints at print labs in the United States, mainland Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia — as close to you as possible. This cuts shipping distance and avoids cross-border duties.
Sustainability is built in: our paper comes from FSC-approved forests, we print with water-based inks, and on-demand production reduces waste from overstock.
Returns, Refunds & Orders
What is DROOL's return and refund policy?
We offer a 14-day return period. If you change your mind, contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and return the item unmarked and in its original packaging for a refund.
As a small independent business, we ask customers to cover return postage on unwanted items, and for framed or already-exchanged items we deduct the original outbound shipping from the refund. We can't accept returns on Mystery Box orders. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
What if my print arrives damaged or I receive the wrong item?
If your artwork arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 14 days and we'll send a free express replacement — no charge. Including a couple of photos of the issue helps us sort it out fastest.
Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?
You can cancel for a full refund as long as your order hasn't entered production. Because prints enter into multiple automated flows and get booked in with shipping partners after the order is placed, we sometimes can't stop an order — but you can obviously still return it easily within 14 days of receiving it.
How do I care for and hang my art print so it lasts?
Handle prints by the edges with clean, dry hands, keep them out of prolonged direct sunlight, and frame behind glass or mount for the best longevity. Our archival pigment inks carry a 100+ year colour guarantee when cared for this way.
If your print arrives rolled, let it relax flat for a few hours (or under a light, even weight) before framing. Avoid hanging in damp spaces like bathrooms.

About DROOL & Quality
Is DROOL a legitimate store, and are the art prints good quality?
Yes. DROOL (DROOL ART LIMITED) is a registered business and we're headquartered in the UK. We've sold over 500k prints to customers in over 100 countries, and we're rated "Great" on Trustpilot. Customers most often praise our print quality, vivid colours, heavyweight paper and careful packaging.
We produce every print on a 12-colour giclée printer and check it by hand before it ships. If anything arrives less than perfect, our support team is widely reviewed as fast and helpful.
What makes DROOL different from Society6, Desenio or other print shops?
DROOL is a curated art print store of unique artwork by independent and emerging artists. We hand-select every artwork and every art piece is sold exclusively on DROOL. We pride ourselves on having some of the world's most unique and interesting alternative art prints.
We're not an open marketplace and we don't sell stock designs. Each piece is hand-selected, and we credit and pay the artist.
You also get genuine giclée fine-art printing (12-colour pigment inks, archival cotton-rag paper option), handmade frames, and local production in the US, EU, UK and Australia for fast, duty-free delivery. In short: unique art, gallery-grade printing, and independent artists you can't find on the big marketplaces.
Who are DROOL's artists, and is the artwork original?
Every DROOL print is from an original work by an independent or emerging artist from around the world, and sold exclusively through DROOL. We credit every artist by name on each product, and they earn from every sale.
Our collection spans illustration, graphic design, painting, photography and typography — from artists such as Lily Kong, Alexander Khabbazi, George Kempster, Maxim Dosca and Eddie Loughran. Artists can apply to join via our artist programme.
